Mary Brooks Green founded Next Century Youth, Inc. in March of 2004. Ms. Green who had worked in corporations throughout the United States for some 20 years as well as having traveled internationally and been privy to the same systemic issues she began to see within her own back yard.

After launching a Human Resources and Management Consulting company in 2001, she admittedly will tell you that she didn’t realize until after obtaining a contract with the Department of Juvenile Justice in 2003, and in working with incarcerated youth, that her HR and Management company (HR Niche Consulting, Inc.) was merely a means to getting to her true purpose in life – helping our youth.

In August of 2004, she received the 501(c) 3 designation for the Next Century Youth and immediately set out to become a spokes person for many of these youth. In between running her consulting company, she meets daily and weekly with business owners, foundations and politicians to share the stories of many youth she had encountered, as well as personal stories and travesties she two has seen that are and have restricted options for our youth of today. She works diligently and passionately in building synergies and partnerships with the many linkages to the programs within Next Century Youth, Inc.

Being an advocate for her own children and youth in general, it became a “no brainer” to identify gaps and to start building synergies to fill such gaps for our youth. One of her favorite sayings is “Like it or not, these youth will make up our next century – so we might as well get on board, do our part and make this century of youth the best that they can be – and it starts by allowing them to have options!!
